We invite you to sing with us on September 26 and 27, 2026, at the Minnesota State Sacred Harp Convention:
- Saturday at Olivet Church, 1850 Iglehart Ave, St Paul, MN 55104
- Sunday at The Landing (in the picnic pavilion), 2187 Highway 101 E, Shakopee, Minnesota 55379
Singing will be 9:30–3:00 each day, with a potluck dinner on the grounds at noon. Please bring a water bottle and travel mug for hot beverages so that we can minimize waste.
There will be a Saturday evening social, with opportunity to sing new compositions. The location will be provided at the Saturday singing.
Singing will be from The Sacred Harp: 2025 Edition; books will be available for sale ($20 cash/check/Venmo) or you can borrow a book for the day.
Child care
After consulting parents of young children in the local singing community about whether childcare is needed, we have determined that we will not offer childcare at this year’s convention due to lack of demand.
Housing
Housing information will be posted in late July
Acccessibility
Olivet Congregational Church – Saturday, Sept 26
- Street parking with 1-2 handicap spaces in front of the building (handicap sticker/tag required) on Dewey Street
- Outdoor ramp entrance to the floor where all activities take place
- One of the bathrooms (also on main level as all activities) is accessible and has grab bars
- Singers who have health concerns related to indoor singing spaces or who have volume level concerns are welcome to participate in the outdoor courtyard
The Landing (Riverbend Shelter) – Sunday, Sept 27
- Gravel parking area and mostly aggregate unpaved walking paths
- No designated handicap parking, but we are arranging for drop off and pick up to be available directly at a ramp to the picnic shelter, where all activities take place
- The shelter is situated on a flat concrete pad
- There are accessible restrooms, but they are a fair distance from the shelter (see map below)
- There is a portable toilet (port-a-potty) that is behind a shed adjacent to the picnic shelter’s concrete pad and does require about 20-30 feet of traversing gravel/ground
- An interactive map showing trails and buildings is available here
The Saturday night social venue is not selected yet but is generally in a private home that may require access via stairs.
